Calicut Paragon Restaurant, Karama, Dubai.

Calicut Paragon serves some of the best of Malabar cuisines in Dubai. There is a reason why you find a lot of other restaurants that use the name “Calicut” and fail miserably to achieve what this restaurant has, since establishing it’s first joint in 1939. This restaurant has its roots in the city of Calicut and they have never failed to satisfy my cravings for good south Indian (malabar) food. To experience the best of what a Kerala lunch has to offer, it would mean ordering the “Noon Meals” that comprises of Rice (Indian Variety) with a variety of curries, sautéed vegetables and steaming hot tea to end the meal. No Malayali has ever said no to Noon Meals and for good reason.

Raw Mango Fish Curry is not a combination have heard off much, but tastes fantastic. I tend to enjoy this curry with soft and fluffy wheat porotta. It may look spicy thanks to the colour but it is surprisingly mild.

The Crab Tushar is amazing and the thick gravy is well spiced and flavoured with fresh coconut milk.
