I remember passing by @chickndipksa a few months ago at ‘Mall of Dhahran’ only to find it full to the brim and deciding that it wasn’t the best time to go for dine-in. Fast forward to Ramadan 2021, the restaurant had opened its doors for the day and with no one else in sight, we decided it was time to give it a try!
‘Chick N Dip’ have had a store in Rakah for the longest time though it never came across my mind to review the restaurant.
If you’d like to check out their menu, you can download the app from the App Store / Play Store or follow the link to access it – https://chickndip.my.taker.io/
We didn’t take long to decide and ordered the following,
1. ‘Buffalo Cheese Fries’ – SR. 13
2. ‘Half Grilled Chicken’ with Spicy Peri Peri and Honey Sriracha – SR. 36
3. ‘Butterfly Chicken’ – SR. 34
The food didn’t take long and it shouldn’t have since we were the only customers at that time and this is what I thought of the food.
The ‘Buffalo Cheese Fries’ comes with crispy chicken balls tossed in a slightly sour buffalo sauce (why is it always sour?) on a bed of fries and drizzled with melted cheese. The chicken had a delightful crunch to it but the sauce is slightly overpowering. At SR. 13 it’s a decent deal.
The ‘Half Grilled Chicken’ was appetizing with the meat cooked to perfection and lathered with Peri Peri Sauce. The ‘Honey Sriracha’ did a much better job at adding flavour, heat and a tinge of sweetness to an already tasty piece of chicken. The chicken at Nandos still has an edge thanks to their superior sauces but this is worth trying. ‘PLEASE ADD MORE FRIES’!!!
‘The Butterfly Chicken’ was disappointing and the Peri Peri Lemon & Herbs sauce was SOUR. The chicken breasts were cooked right but the sauce was really overpowering. Even worse was the mashed potatoes. It was dense, dry and tasted like instant mashed potatoes with a topping of cheddar. I wouldn’t recommend ordering this dish if you ever plan on visiting.
