Nestled in the heart of Khobar City Walk, OBAO promises a fantastic dining experience. The warm and inviting atmosphere was further complemented by the super welcoming staff, who ensured our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. What truly elevated this dining experience was the guidance of Chef Harsh, who provided us with some fantastic recommendations.

We started our evening with the ‘American Crunch‘ salad (SR. 49). It was a delightful fusion of nachos, kidney beans, corn, parsley, and coriander with infused ranch dressing. The nachos added a satisfying crunch to the mix, perfectly complementing the freshness of parsley. I couldn’t rate this dish higher and highly recommend giving it a try.

The ‘Crispy Flavoured Corn Strips‘ appetizer (SR. 59) was both interesting and unique. Although it may not look like much, it was seasoned beautifully and appeared to be batter-fried, which added an extra layer of flavours to the crunchy corn. It made for an excellent snack.

The ‘Signature Shrimp‘ dish is a delightful appetizer that packs a flavourful punch. The glazed shrimp are generously coated in a house blend special sauce that strikes a harmonious balance between tangy and sweet. The addition of sesame seeds and garnished spring onions adds a delightful texture. The sauce helps balance the sweetness and it’s good value at SR. 55.

The ‘Chicken Bao‘ (SR. 42) was a delightful surprise. I loved how delicate the Baos were, and the chicken was crispy, with the parmesan and secret sauce complementing it perfectly. It’s a steal at that price, and it’s not something you come across easily in the Eastern Province.

The ‘Wild Mushroom Truffle Pizza‘ is a must-try. While there may not be truffle slices on it, the truffle oil infuses the pizza with a unique and delicious flavour which does overpower it. Priced at SR. 56, it’s a real treat.

For the main course, we indulged in the ‘Bomba Spanish Paella,’ a generous serving of shrimp that could easily feed two. The flavours were subtle but comforting, although a touch more moisture could have elevated the dish. It’s slightly steep at SR. 99 but worth trying if it’s something you haven’t tried before.

The ‘Sweet Potato Fries‘ were good, but I recommend replacing the ketchup with ranch for an even better experience. At SR. 22, this snack is excellent value for money.

To conclude our meal, we savoured the ‘OBAO Cheesecake,’ a perfect ending to the evening. It was fresh, creamy, and perfectly balanced.
Don’t forget to try their signature mocktails, which come with a touch of theatrics, adding to the overall experience.

Overall, my dining experience at OBAO in Khobar City Walk deserves a solid 8.5/10. I’m eager to return, especially to enjoy the fantastic salad, delicious pizzas, and those delightful BAOS. This restaurant is a hidden gem worth exploring.
