Is this the best ‘Mutton Karahi’ in the Eastern Province? – ‘Spice Bazaar’ in Khobar Shamaliyah

Spice Bazaar‘ Pakistani Restaurant in Al Khobar has once again proven itself as a top contender for the best ‘Mutton Karahi’ in the Eastern Province. My repeat visit for this particular dish was met with the same exceptional quality that has made it my personal favourite.

My fascination for this dish has led me to many restaurants in the Eastern Province and beyond and I officially recognise this as one of the best ‘Mutton Karahi’ versions yet.

Priced at 99 Riyals for a 1 Kilo serving, the ‘Mutton Karahi’ may seem steep, but the generous portion easily satisfies 3 adults or 4-5 kids. The tender meat, infused with the subtle flavours of lamb fat, is complemented by just the right amount of spices, creating a deliciously thick gravy. Paired perfectly with Roti, it’s a hearty and fulfilling experience.

The ‘Mutton Keema’ is another standout option, offering a comforting blend of spices that marinate the minced meat beautifully. While slightly on the greasier side, the in-house Roti complements it well.

The ‘Chicken Boti Tikka’ at SR. 22 is a surprising delight, featuring well-seasoned meat with a punchy taste. Despite its dry appearance, the tenderness of the chicken becomes evident with each bite. The accompanying savoury tamarind chutney and fries add to the overall value, making it a worthwhile choice.

‘Chicken Boti Tikka’Dry on the outside, moist on the inside.

Excitingly, Spice Bazaar is set to introduce a new chef specializing in Pulao’s, promising a new dimension to their menu and I intend of visiting when that time comes so keep an eye out for an update.

P.S – I wouldn’t recommend a takeout for the ‘Mutton Karahi’. Tastes best FRESH!
