The Amazing Pashto ‘Bannu Beef Nalli Pulao’

I have been searching for this Pulao ever since I came across street food videos from Pakistan and I finally got to try it over the weekend.

The ‘Bannu Beef Nalli Pulao’ or ‘Banuse Pulao’ is a speciality pulao dish from the Bannu district of KPK Province in Pakistan and is impossible to find in Dammam / Khobar.

A plate at ‘Pappu Bhai Restaurant’ is great value at that price and the portions are huge. Each plate comes with a bone filled with delicious bone marrow and tender chunks of beef. The rice is quite flavourful and spicy at the same time, it only gets better when you add the Nalli. Also compliment it with some Raita if you want to balance the heaviness of this dish.

It is quite greasy and some of you might find it to be quite heavy, but it is an experience not to be missed out on. It was everything I had hoped for, and this is a restaurant I will be visiting again.

There seems to be a family section, but I cannot confirm. Also, good luck trying to find a parking spot here over the weekend.
