Our weekend started with a drive to Safwa for lunch at Grill Garden Restaurant, and it turned out to be a great decision. This restaurant is not your typical spot; it’s designed to put you at ease with a lovely array of plants decorating the space, creating a refreshing and calming atmosphere.

We were welcomed by Cris, the Restaurant Manager, who kindly led us to our table upstairs. There’s plenty of seating, especially for families and large groups, and the place is highly rated on Google Maps—which we could see was well-earned.

Here’s what we ordered:

1. Mozzarella Sticks – SR 18
2. Beef Pickled Style/Spicy (Beef Mukalal) – SR 35 ⭐️
3. Rib Eye Steak – SR 59 ⭐️
4. Sizzling Chicken Fajita – SR 28 ⭐️
5. Rigatoni Pasta – SR 30
6. Fusion Burger – SR 28

We started with the Fatoush Salad, even though I usually avoid salads since they take up too much stomach real estate. However, it was fresh and delicious. The Mozzarella Sticks were also a hit—super cheesy and indulgent!

Next, I dived straight into the main course with the Rib Eye Steak, which was absolutely fantastic for two main reasons. First, the cut of meat was tender, with slivers of fat in between, and it was seasoned beautifully. Second, for just SR 59, it was a fantastic deal. I can’t recommend it enough!

Another favourite was the Beef Mukalal, which came with a side of rice as part of their Rice Combo menu. The beef was tender, the flavours were comforting with a hint of spice, and it made for the perfect comfort food.

The Sizzling Chicken Fajita was also a winner. The seasoning was spot on, and the dish was packed with flavour. It comes with fries and tortillas, which you can use to make your own little fajita rolls—fun and tasty!

Other dishes that are worth trying include the Rigatoni Pasta and the Fusion Burger. I’m already planning to come back to try their BBQ Short Ribs, which supposedly take over 12 hours to cook.

The portions are generous, making this one of the best value-for-money meals I’ve had recently. We even packed up the leftovers to enjoy the next day.

I can’t emphasize enough how great the service was. A big thank you to both Cris and Robin for making our experience memorable. This place is worth the drive to Safwa!
