The Art of CAKE by ‘The Oven Affairs’ – Kuwait

I do not know how best to describe Elma’s cakes. They are a product of her hard work and talent with the key ingredient being ‘Passion’. You have to passionate about what you do to build masterpieces like these and ‘The Oven Affairs’ cakes are all about it. I was invited to dinner at the D’Souza’s and did not expect to be treated to a dessert work of art but that is exactly what happened.

A Pear and ginger cake layered with Cinnamon buttercream with a core of Spiced Salted Caramel.

The Oven Affairs

This cake had it all, a lil bit of this and a little bit of that. How do you know which ingredient goes well with the other? The pear and ginger combination worked beautifully well together and had been layered with Cinnamon Buttercream. My favourite portion of the cake had to be the ’Spiced Salted Caramel Center’ but how does it all stay in place you may ask. The cake is held in place with Ganache that had hints of dark chocolate that really balanced the sweetness and together with the cake and core it was absolutely blissful.

After a few spoonfuls, @foodingmyselfaround and I found ourselves feeling a little high on sugar. This was after all the lovely food we had helped ourselves to and we didn’t regret it one bit. It was Christmas after all.

The Special One ‘Rainbow Skull Cake’

This isn’t a Cake, it’s a work of Art worthy of the ‘Mini Cake Museum‘ in LA.

Food with Shayne

I had been raving about Elma’s cake when my wife decided she wanted one for herself. I had an idea in mind and Elma was asked to deliver a cake quite different from the usual orders she has worked with. My wife has a weird fascination for skulls and the colour black and when I put that idea forward to Elma, she set to work creating this absolute masterpiece.

This Ultimate Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Frosting was decadent and sublime and the hardest part is trying to stop eating at 1 slice.

Thank you for the wonderful experience @theovenaffairs and thank you Joystan for being supportive of your wife’s wonderful work. I would unreservedly recommend her cakes but make sure to put in your order well in advance.
